Black Friday, and at least some percentage of the population has shopping on their minds.? Even a larger percentage observes this holiday season.? By and large, that means food and drink.? For excellent selections of wine and beer, consider locally owned Pettyjohn?s Liquor and Wine, which has been open the Table Mesa Shopping Center for forty-three years.? Now owned by Ann and Chris Coppinger , who have an impressive range of certifications and degrees in wine and spirits and have worked there since 1978, the store originally was opened by Jon and Marie Pettyjohn.? Although Boulder was a dry town until 1968 (one had to go outside the city limits), Jon bought what might have been the first liquor license.
Today the store thrives with a knowledgeable and impressive range of fine French wines (among others), locally crafted beers, hard spirits and liquors, and other wines and beer.?
