How to spot a good Personal Trainer???????????
Being in the profession I know what I am looking for in a Cambridge Personal Trainer. I know that I am getting value for money with my trainer as I trust and know the person who Personal Trains me ? Charlie Wall Purple Fitness. I have learnt all I know from this lady and she has so much more knowledge to impart so, I constantly keep on learning from her as she does from others in the Industry. We are learning from those at the top of the game in Personal Training so we can offer our Cambridge Personal Training Clients and Cambridge Bootcamps Ladies the most up to date knowledge and information regarding Nutrition, Health, Well being and Exercise.
How do you know if you have the correct Personal Trainer for you. Well if the Personal Trainer is good at their job they will have confirmed this with you before the consultation. Making sure what they are offering is for you.
Once at the consultation you then find out a lot more about your Personal Training Client and explain what training is involved and what is required from your client. The more you know about your personal training client the better ? well being lifestyle, nutrition, current activities, stressors, family, injury, goals, dedication, willingness etc.
From the consultation you should leave your personal trainer feeling confident that they have your best interests in mind, understand what you are getting from the one to one personal training sessions and have all the information you require to succeed in achieving the goals that will have been set together. You should be made aware of any changes required to improving posture and also the areas in your body that require strengthening and those that require stretching, this should be completed by a Kenetic Chain Analysis.
Before commencing your one to one personal training sessions you should have the correct nutrition in place (any worthy personal trainer will have this in mind straight away, it all begins and ends with the right nutrition). At your personal training sessions you should be working on your areas that need to be strengthened and those that need stretching. Personal training is not about getting the client in and seeing how quickly you can get them hurling in the bin!! You work on rectifying the imbalances so you can make them strong, lean and get them, to their goals. You cannot do this without making sure the body functions correctly first. Functional training is very important, making people mobile, flexible and able to perform tasks in everyday life easier. Ever got out of bed in the morning and felt achy, weak and about 90yrs old???????.yeah well this is where it is at to make it go away. Those niggles and pains you feel can all be worked out with the correct training.
Looking at the above list if you have a personal trainer or plan on getting one see how many of the above things I have noted that you can tick off?? Without the above you are paying money for not much return and definitely no progression. Without the above you will not be able to train hard for very long without injury. My clients can tick every single one of the aforementioned requirements off and I can with my Cambridge Personal Trainer. I know I am worthy of training my clients, I get them results, they see and feel the progression but most importantly it improves their whole lifestyles and for those that have them their families.
Personal training is about making a change to people?s lifestyle for the better, improving their well being, posture, strength, function, energy, reducing stressors in their lives, improving health & nutrition.
It is an all round package with this Cambridge Personal Trainer as it is with my Cambridge Personal trainer Charlie Wall Purple Fitness.
Being a personal trainer you make so many amazing improvements to people?s lives and there really could not be a better feeling when you hear the progress your clients are making and feeling. Changes need to come for you to meet your goals, do not be afraid of it, embrace it and enjoy the ride.
Back to me and my Cambridge Personal Trainer. Remember I am a personal trainer but I still need guidance and that one to one attention so I do not lose sight of myself and my goals. Training others you can allow your own health and well being to slip. I need to feel good about myself, strong and in control or how else can I impart this on my clients. We are only human and we still have our own demons to beat.
This is why I have a personal trainer and see it as a requirement, a necessity in my life??????????????????????????????
My progression ? Nutrition: -
- I no longer see caffeine as a treat or need for energy as my nutrition gives me this
- I no longer see food as a treat, personal training is my treat, buying clothes that look and feel good is a treat, liking myself and my body is a treat
- I enjoy food and no longer see it as my enemy
- I no longer restrict myself the foods I enjoy as they are clean and healthy. This stops me from binging and craving food constantly (changing your mindset & understanding what causes you to crave foods and certain types)
- I no longer punish my body with over training because I have felt like I have over eaten, I am more relaxed with food and around it.
- I have a better relationship with food ? this is the key (I know where you are coming from when it comes to food we have the same struggles. I have not always been in great health and shape, I imagine a lot of people can relate to this)
My progression ? Exercise:-
- My all over body mobility is improving, years of running left my body tight (running is not a weight loss tool once you understand this the better, run if you enjoy it don?t if you hate it. High intensity interval training & weights are key to fat burning, toning, lean bodies and strength)
- I no longer feel stiffness and weak in my body in the morning and throughout, stretching and mobility work has helped this. (running and not stretching did not)
- My squat technique is improving
- My upper body strength has improved I can complete assisted pull ups more easily. One day without assistance bands???..watch this space
- My legs are stronger (toned) which will aid in my running
- My core body strength is better, I can engage my body through all movements and hold planks stronger and for longer
- I can swing a 24kg kettlebell ( I got buns of steal woohoo)
All this and I have only completed 3 of my 6 sessions???????.. So you see if you cannot make a list like the above and you have been with your personal trainer for a long time then what are you paying for??? I can complete my own training and did but look at the quickness in my progression, this would have not happened without someone pushing and encouraging me.
If you are thinking of getting yourself a personal trainer then make sure you are investing in the right one. A personal trainer should care about every aspect of your well being and should want to set you up to succeed and maintain your achievements for the foreseeable future
This is what my clients get and this is what every personal training client should receive. Some goals will take longer to achieve then others but it is a work in progress and you should see improvements/progression on a weekly basis.
With the correct training and guidance, your 100% commitment and completing what is asked of you from your Cambridge Personal Trainer, you will achieve optimal health.
We are the complete package, having a personal trainer in your life and as trainers we will strive to bring you the most up to date training and nutritional knowledge to help you succeed in leading a healthy, happy, active lifestyle.
